About Us
Hui Aloha Pu‘ukapu (HAP) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization with a dedicated team of five Board of Directors and a growing community of approximately 23 members. Our organization incorporated in August of 2021, shortly after the Mana Road Fire deeply affected our community and neighboring lands. Membership in our organization is open to all Beneficiaries, leases, successors, and residents of Pu‘ukapu Pastoral Hawaiian Homestead Land.
At our core, our mission is to elevate and honor the profound connection between place and people through community stewardship. We are committed to empowering the rural community of Pu‘ukapu Pastoral Hawaiian Homestead Land, focusing on values such as cultural identity, self-sufficiency, and community cohesion.
We envision a thriving community that strikes a harmonious balance between its people and the land. This balance includes self-sufficiency, a strong cultural identity, access to adequate infrastructure, and essential resources. Our ultimate goal is to create a legacy that future generations in Pu‘ukapu can carry forward with pride.
In pursuit of our mission, we aim to secure the necessary infrastructure for the care and protection of the property and the well-being of our community's children. We seek to foster collaboration between our members and government officials to address basic infrastructure needs, promote community capacity development, and enhance education and awareness.
